Yume-Kyobashi Akarikan

There are shop, museum and cafe in a Yume-Kyobashi Akarikan building.
At shop, it offers a variety of items of candles and incense. 
You can make a candle at the hands-on candle making studio. At a museum, you will see ordinary people’s articles.  When you feel taking a rest, you can enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, or soft drink at Gallery Cafe Carom.


Shop

This shop offers a variety of candles which are Hikone traditional crafts, and incense.  You will buy ‘Hikonyan’ products featuring popular character as a souvenir of Hikone.

Hands-on Candle Making Studio

You can make your own designed candle.  Instruction will be provided.
The experience takes approximately one hour.  We believe that everyone from children to adults will enjoy it !

Machi-naka Museum

Historical and cultural articles, which were found in the daily life of ordinary
people in Hikone, are displayed.  You will find old life time in Hikone.

Gallery Cafe Carom

After enjoying shopping, candle making and museum, take a rest in our café.
You will enjoy the atmosphere of traditional town house, Machiya.
The name, Karomu is a board game handed down the generations in Hikone,
and scarlet table which is followed the board game is applied Japan by traditional craftsmen in Hikone.
