Hikone Castle Museum

Hikone Castle Museum is the replica of the main palace of the Hikone Clan’s office in the Edo Era. It exhibits the Ii family’s treasures such as artistic handcraft articles, tea sets, and old documents etc. The Noh stage and Okumuki, where the lords used to spend their daily life, including tea rooms and a garden were rebuilt. These places are also parts of the museum. The museum building itself is interesting.
Hikone-byobu Screen, a National Treasure is exhibited every spring. Noh plays are held in spring and autumn.

Admission: Adult 500 yen, Elementary and Junior high students 250 yen.
